Hello Adventurers,
This is Black Desert Online.
First and foremost, we would like to thank you for your unwavering support.
We have been closely monitoring the situation regarding the issue of Private Servers providing unwarranted access to Black Desert Online. Despite our efforts to shut these servers down by reporting cases of private server operations and taking necessary legal actions, we have come to understand that it is nearly impossible to handle each and every case of such private server operations operating underground.
◆ What is a Private Server?
Private Servers regard game servers or the means of providing game services that have been created upon modifying and distributing our client without express approval, agreement or licensing from or with the developers of a game or the publishers of a game for the purpose of providing illegal game services.
The operation of Private Servers is clearly illegal and constitutes copyright infringement. In addition to this, the use of unwarranted Private Servers damages the gaming experience of our Adventurers who enjoy Black Desert Online through the approved channels.
In a continued effort to shut down private servers, we plan to implement a Client Authentication System in Black Desert Online starting on November 7, 2018.
We would like to assure our Adventurers that the implementation of the Client Authentication System will not affect game play for those who access our game through the approved channels.
Users may, however, experience an issue in which the client will not properly authenticate if OS time settings were forcibly changed, resulting in certain restrictions to game play.
In the event that the OS time setting were changed, please follow the instructions to sync your time and then start the game.
1) On Windows 7, access the Control Panel and select Clock,Language and Region. On Windows 10, open the Settings.
2) On Windows 7, select 'Internet Time' tab and click on 'Change settings'. After that select mark the option on the top 'Synchronize with an internet time server' and then click 'Update now'.
3) After clicking on the Internet Time settings, select 'Date and Time'.

Please be mindful that game play may be restricted if our screening system detects instances where the same actions are repeated multiple times. If you are unable to start the game due to client authentication failure, please contact Customer Service for assistance.

If you find any private servers, please be sure to submit a report regarding this to the official Black Desert Online Customer Service Center. Also, please note that game play restrictions may be enforced against users who promote or advertise private servers.
